In a statement released on Sunday, Wahome assured both prospective students and the general public that the application deadline. Initially set for February 26, 2024, has been extended. This extension aims to guarantee that every eligible student has submitted their application.
Wahome highlighted the transition of government services to the eCitizen platform. Causing delays in the payment validation process for the placement service. To avoid complications, she advised applicants against making duplicate payments.
KUCCPS no longer accepts applications at the school level, so they consider every student a first-time applicant. Wahome reiterated that they wouldn’t disadvantage any applicant based on their submission timing.
The placement agency will commence processing applications once all candidates have submitted their course selections, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all. Additionally, students who miss the initial placement exercise will have two opportunities for revision.
To support applicants, KUCCPS is actively collaborating with relevant government entities, adhering to the principle of leaving no student behind.
Since the opening of the application portal on February 7. KUCCPS has observed a higher number of candidates opting for degree programs over Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses. Wahome encouraged students with mean grades between C and E to consider TVET opportunities.
For those needing assistance with their applications, support centers are available, listed on the KUCCPS website, www.kuccps.ac.ke.
In conclusion, the extension of the application deadline by KUCCPS aims to ensure inclusivity and equal access to higher education opportunities for all eligible students in Kenya.
