New and Increased Training Payment Rates for Teachers by TSC
New and Increased Training Payment Rates for Teachers by TSC. The Teacher Service Commission (TSC) has recently issued a significant circular that broadly governs the salary levels for curriculum support staff, teachers, and certain staff members actively engaged in Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) training.
In this well-structured circular, there is a wealth of comprehensive details regarding travel reimbursement, participant fees, and meals. Let’s delve into its key features:
For Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) and CBC Champions:
The outlined policy includes the reimbursement of travel expenses, allowing a maximum of Kshs. 1000 for CSOs and Kshs. 800 for champions. Furthermore, the training center not only covers costs but also generously provides two teas and lunch at a daily rate of Kshs. 400 for three days. Moreover, each participant receives stationery, with an allocation of Kshs. 100. To further support participants during the course, there is a daily living allowance of Kshs. 3,000 granted to cover a four-day stay.
For Regional Training of Teachers and Principals:
In the context of teachers undergoing regional training, they receive a daily travel allowance of Kshs. 300. As for CBC CSOs and Champions, they are granted a substantial grant of Kshs. 1,000 per day for five days. Additionally, participants are provided accommodation at a rate of Kshs. 1,000 per day for the same duration. It’s important to note that all participants are furnished with communal meals at a daily rate of Kshs. 400, which extends over five days. Furthermore, an allocation of Kshs. 100 per participant for stationery is in place to facilitate the learning process.
In addition to the aforementioned provisions, there is an added fuel cost of Kshs. 5,000 per vehicle, with a maximum of two vehicles per unit. In cases involving departments with regional managers, there is an allowance for three vehicles. Additionally, lunch is provided with a maximum limit of Kshs. 1,500 per day. This allowance extends to various positions, such as District Manager, District Manager, Deputy District Manager, 2 Drivers, and District Accounts. It’s crucial to note that the amount paid is contingent on the level associated with each job group.
This comprehensive framework underscores TSC’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that all those involved in CBC learning, including teachers, curriculum support staff, and champions, receive the necessary support to effectively carry out their roles.
