Despite the delay, the Nandi County school secured the second position, closely trailing Kapsabet Boys’ Secondary School. The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) recently unveiled results for Samoei boys and Tachasis girls after a two-week official delay directed by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
At Nandi Hills’ Samoei Boys’ Secondary School, all 292 applicants secured university admission. Principal Kiptoo Kimosop praised the 2023 class for their hard work, devotion, and dedication. With an impressive 9.6 mean score, the school claimed the second spot, just behind Kapsabet Boys with a mean of 10.2.
“We thank God for the students’ excellent achievement. Anticipating higher KCSE scores this year,” Kimosop mentioned in a media team interview.
St. Mary Taachasis Girls in Tinderet constituency faced a similar situation. Posting a mean score of 7.9 in this year’s KCSE exams despite delayed results. All 50 applicants with initially withheld results had them sent to Cardinal Otunga Mosocho High School in Kisii County.
KNEC suspended the results due to alleged irregularities. Chief Principal Albert Ombiro reported that 50 out of 433 candidates claimed missing exam results when Education CS Ezekiel Machogu announced results on January 8. Promptly contacting KNEC, the school received assurance of resolution.
